Axis Bank misleading customers similar to HDFC

Hi

Today I got a call from Axis Bank, they wanted to "upgrade" my Magnus credit card to "MyZone" or "Flipkart" variant. Upon asking if he really thinks that these two credit cards are truly an upgrade to Magnus, he was hell bent on proving that only limit matters and features wise these credit cards are better than Axis Magnus. Not sure why Axis Bank and even HDFC are trying to pull a wool over customer eyes by offering a lower credit card as an upgrade.

Anyone else also received a similar call?

I thought about that, but why would a scam call be interested in upgrading a credit card. Additionally, he had details of my bank account, home branch, knowledge that I have a credit card, etc.

Additionally, HDFC has been doing the same in the past few weeks. My wife also got an offer to upgrade her LTF DCB to DC Privilege or 6E

yup... from hdfc a couple of years ago. they tried to convince me that diners millenia was an 'upgrade' over diners premium (same as diners privilege in the diners hierarchy). and they literally got offended when i told them that diners millennia is lower variant than privilege 😅

any way, don't entertain any requests over phone, even if the call is genuinely from the bank. always ask for an email from them from their official emailid.
