Axis Burgunday criteria increased from 10L QAB to 10L MAB from 30th Jan

Axis just upgraded the burgundy eligblity criteria from 10L Quaterly Average Balance to 10L Monthly Average Balance applicable from 30th Jan 2025.

Received the notification in Axis app, and SMS

Dear xxx, we would like to inform you that the eligibility criteria for Burgundy will be changed from maintaining Average Quarterly Balance (AQB) of INR 10 lakhs to maintaining Average Monthly Balance (AMB) of INR 10 lakhs. How is it devaluation?🤔 Aren't both somewhat similar. Just that calculation frequency changed from once a quarter to once a month.

It's different. In AQB, a person can maintain 5L in the first 2 months and then 50L/60L for the 3rd month to get AQB to be 10L.
Now, a person has to maintain 10L every month, so he could have 5L for 20 days and then 15/20L for 10 days, as long as AMB is now 10L.

Still both are similar. Only possible downside could be account downgrade might become faster.

Just because calculation method is the same ie average End of day balance, it doesn't become the same. If it were the same, there would be only MAB or AQB, not both.
