Hi folks,
I recently started receiving automated whatsapp messages from Indusind and Axis on whatsapp for CC and Loans without having any prior relationship or applications with these banks.
The weird thing is Axis is using my Name in a format (Name SO Guardian Name) that i've only ever used once with a PSU bank account which is quite old.
So the only way they could get my name in this specific format is if they extracted my name from UPI name check, maybe few investments or some other crooked way.. but not via generic surveys/forms/other recent app registrations..
This literally creeped me out and feels like a huge invasion of privacy. Is there anything we can do against such incidents?
Or find out how they got our data and get it removed from their database?
Are there any laws against such privacy intrusions in india or can companies just keep selling our data without consequences?
