Hello TF Community,
I, like many others here on TF, faced the issue of Axis Bank CC (Vistara Infinite in my case) being denied on official website of Lufthansa and before I knew this was a widespread issue, I had opened a support ticket for the same. (btw, same tickets were easily purchased by SBI & HDFC cards)
I also called the phone customer care and they told me that none of the details I entered were wrong but the merchant Lufthansa was sending "incorrect data" to them which triggered a security issue and hence it was denied. As I am a developer myself I was puzzled as to what data can be wrong, so I asked exactly "which" data was incorrect if my card details are correct and the base level executive had no idea nor access to ge the same.
Then I started following up over email and escalated to PNO when I kept getting the same response. From PNO, I first got the infamous "give us 3 days" mail again and again and today to my shock and horror, PNO desk has straight up lied to me stating that CVV was incorrect. Which I checked 3 times and all three times it was correctly entered and still the transaction was declined.
I replied to their email asking what exact incorrect value was entered from my side, and I also said that I am in the process of getting the transaction data from Lufthansa side as well so their records better match up with them. As I am typing this, I have got a hurried reply from PNO (fastest reply I have ever seen from PNO desk):
Now help me understand what their broken english means here? I am still not happy with their response and will be escalating to RBI Ombusman.
By the way, others here on TF have faced the same exact issue as me and thanks to one of them, the workaround was buying the same ticket from SWISS website(sister brand of lufthansa) which was successful for me as well so I am sure Axis have blocked Lufthansa specifically as it's and SWISS's websites are exactly the same with just a different colour scheme.
