Axis Unauthorised Enquiry in CIBIL

Jagadish

TF Neo
Axis bank has checked my CIBIL report, which was a hard enquiry, for a personal loan without me applying for it or initiating any process for a loan.

I had sent an email to Axis bank, asking them why they checked my CIBIL report without my consent. To which, they have replied asking me to provide my full CIBIL report which includes all my credit card details of other banks, OVD numbers, employment details etc.

I responded, providing them with the ECN (enquiry control number) of the enquiry as well as a screenshot of the enquiry and asking them why they need the full CIBIL report? To which they have again replied, asking me to provide my full CIBIL report which includes all my credit card details of other banks, OVD numbers, employment details etc.

Any suggestions on what to do next as I do not want to share my full CIBIL report to them via email?

You should share your full report , axis already holds your sensitive details so there is nothing to hide from them.

I agree that Axis holds my sensitive details but it is stored in their database. Sharing these details over an email is very risky. Right?
Also, an unauthorised enquiry has happened probably because of a data leak.

Either you can share initial few pages which contain your identity, employment and credit summary information.
Then the Enquiries section of your report.

Remove everything else from the report.

This is what I do , when banks ask for full report.

Doing this you will find yourself in better position wrt RBI BO , if bank denies removing the enquiry.

Thank you. I have sent only the personal details page and the enquiry page to Axis via email. Will update with what the joker bank responds on this thread.

Thank you.

Yes, I know how to create a PDF of specific pages.

I have sent only the personal details page and the enquiry page to Axis via email. Will update with what the joker bank does on this thread.

Update 1:

I have received a response from Axis after a week, today. They have told me to raise a dispute with CIBIL regarding this and then asked me to forward the dispute email sent by CIBIL to them.

I feel that they are deliberately trying to escape from the compensation that will start next week once the 30 day period is over.

Any advice on what to do next?

Can you please provide some advice on what to do next?

do that, and once 30 days (from intial mail) over, open rbio complaint. both need not be related.

btw, chances
to get compensation very slim in this case, focus on removing enquiry and don't hope much in compensation.
