HDFC, AU and Yes Refund Forex Fee when txn is refunded.
  • The problem with cards with any amount of mark up fee, is when there is return/refund.
Does any card refund the forex+GST?
Afaik, SBI CB card does not.
    Dont know about the others
Hence I prefer zero forex wow card.
Hdfc, au and yes bank refunds. Sbi and idfc doesn't. Axis and Icici charges again on refund, so double charge.

    PSU don't charge DCC ~06 Feb 2025
  • I am trying to make a payment on Chinese shopping website, Alibabacom for the amount of USD 55. Its converting the amount into INR automatically and the final page is showing Rs. 4859. While if I convert USD 55 into INR @87.4, it should come Rs. 4807. The extra charges being taken here are Rs. 145, that mean 3.01%.
But the thing is that irrespective of I am trying to make a payment by my PNB Visa Plat debit card, SBI cashback credit card or Yes Bank Reserv credit card, in all three cards the amount remains the same. So here I am getting confused whether this is final that I will have to pay, or forex charges will be applicable over this amount?
If this is the final amount, then, there is no benefit of using Yes Reserv cc, as forex charges on Yes Reserv are only 2.07% inclusive of GST.
Note: Previously I made few txn using my PNB visa plat debit card, no additional charges were applied over the transaction. So does that mean, Alibaba.com payment is not considered forex txn?
Most of the psu banks don't charge dcc. So better make payment in INR and you won't get charged extra and will also get 5% cashback using sbi cb card
