Best usage of Axis Vistara Infinite free business class ticket & CV Gold club

Hi all,
I’m thinking of applying for the Axis Vistara Infinite during the ongoing offer. Just need clarity on below two points from experts

1. As per T&C only direct routes are allowed from the free ticket voucher. However, I read somewhere that one is able to use on connecting sectors too. Request clarity on this and suggestions for best travel destination (routes) to travel from Mumbai using this. (In case if it’s directly only, then routes from Mumbai are limited with Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai and tier 1 cities, no travel destinations like Leh, Guwahati, Port Blair etc)

2. Can we use the ticket upgrade voucher from Premium Economy to Business for a ticket bought through CV points? Or the ticket has to be purchased by cash only?

Thanks in Advance

1. YES, only direct route is available for voucher (If you are flying to Port Blair from Delhi - it will go via Kolkata, the PNR remains same and you dont have to de board the plane, it's just a stopover to get passenger from Kolkata) this way u can maximize the voucher value.
2. YES, you can use the ticket upgrade voucher from Premium Economy to Business for a ticket bought through CV points. no matter how you purchased.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for the reply

Just wanted to know more about this PNR same flights

1. Are there any such flights from Mumbai that are connecting flights but have the same PNR?
2. How do I find such same PNR flights on Vistara?

2. Can we use the ticket upgrade voucher from Premium Economy to Business for a ticket bought through CV points? Or the ticket has to be purchased by cash only?
ticket needs to be paid by cash in order to use upgrade voucher , confirmed by vistara customer support

On the same boat two more questions:
1. The business class ticket - can that be used for nominees on my vistara account? Or only for the cardholder?

2. Can the class upgrade vouchers be used for nominees? Or only for cardholder?

Officially no
Actually yes, what's not allowed is selling/bartering points and vouchers. But you can redeem these for whomever you want. You just can't trade them or sell them.
9.1.21 A Member may not sell an Award Flight or any other reward for cash or other consideration and a Member may not purchase an Award Flight or any other reward from a third party.
It's widely standard practice in Frequent Flyer Programs. If you get caught selling/bartering those benefits they can forfeit all your CV points and even your Elite Status. It has happened before.

Here's a good article about it:

Hey hi Amit

Have seen another comment in this thread that upgrade vouchers are only applicable on tickets purchased through cash so was confused, any personal experience you can share to clear this doubt ?

Thank you so much for the help 😀

1. this is incorrect - if there is a connecting flight, then their cost for each ticket increases and they will not allow you to book.

Ex - I wanted a flight (business class) from HYD to KOL and this was a connecting flight via Delhi. Was unable to book and called Customer care. They clearly informed that since its a connecting flight, we cannot book. Only direct flight to one destination will work.

The case is different for Mumbai - Port Blair and Delhi - Port Blair.

For example Delhi-Kolkata and Kolkata-Port Blair HAS the same flight number AND it is on the SAME plane. It is explicitly mentioned that it is a technical stop as opposed to a normal stop, also they're very short with just 1 hour time.

Refer to point #3 of TnC for the voucher.
3. The Voucher entitles the Cardholder to receive a waiver of the base fare component on one -way ticket for travel on Vistara domestic network (each Voucher is usable for a single flight number journey between two points).

As per my understanding your bags don't need to be transferred (obviously since it is the same plane) and you don't disembark the plane. It is a quick refueling stop with the passengers onboard.

However I can see you're able to buy flights from Kolkata to Port Blair on the same flight which means you can board the plane there. Not sure about the logistics on that, but for sure you won't be disembarking there if your final destination is Port Blair as there's not enough time to get off and back into the plane.

This is interesting. How do I search for such “technical stops” flights from Mumbai?
Any other such flights that you know of except Delhi-Port Blair
