Best use of Emirates Skywards Miles

Hi fellow TF members.

I have 27000 Emirates Skywards miles expiring in May 2023. Please suggest the best way to use them.

Use it to upgrade your revenue flights. Most optimum is to buy the “Flex” Fare, that way it’ll require fewer miles to upgrade and also most of the times there is no or little tax in addition to the miles for upgrade.

Example, del to dxb return. Economy flex is for 40k. Business is for 120.

Miles required to upgrade are 19500 each way, 39k in total.

So you’re getting about 80k value for 39000 miles spent, almost at Rs 2 per mile.

I think upgrades are the best way to redeem Emirates Skywards miles.

Best way to redeem 27k should be to get a one way upgrade on del-dxb or dxb-del when you buy the Economy Flex Fare.

Sometimes it’s requiring about 25k miles to upgrade instead of the 19.5k miles usually required on this route.

One more option I learnt is to redeem one way Air Mauritius Mumbai (BOM) - Mauritius (MRU) Economy ticket for 26000 points + INR 3,182.

Hi,
I have transferred my 76000 points to emirates skywards miles which converts to 38000. Converting it into rupees i have received only Rs22000.
I had done this first time and didn’t know about it much. Wanted to know have I received the right amount after conversion or would have got better value than that?
