Best way to get a credit limit enhancement on SC Manhattan

Hello all,

I currently have SC Manhattan for INR 3.75L limit, which has remained the same for over a year now. I wish to apply for SC Ultimate which will require a 4L limit.

My salary and credit score would be sufficient to get that limit, but I wanted to ask if there is way to get the limit enhancement with fair degree of certainty? The online portal just says, my request for CLE can't be processed currently.

Thanks in advance for any inputs.

I'm assuming you don't have a HNI relationship with SCB, you salary/ITR is the only way out. Though you can still try applying for SC Ultimate by verifying your current SCB card details online, it may go through as the limit difference is pretty nominal

Thanks, will try and update the forum. If I am rejected, any idea about the cool-off period before I can cancel and re-apply again with ITR and salary slips?

General rule of thumb is 6 months
Also try not applying via income documents
Try C2C if possible and if not only then will income documents
Cool. Have applied and waiting for the result.

A general question for C2C — Should I use an ICICI Amazon card (an entry level card) with 10L+ limit or an HDFC DCB (a super premium card) with 6L limit?

Update:- The application was rejected. Will close the card in six months and apply on C2C basis.

Another update (that no one asked for🙂):

I mailed SC asking for a credit limit increase. mentioned the following:
  1. A CIBIL of 800+
  2. No delayed payments on Manhattan Card
  3. No limit enhancements in past year and a half
  4. Salary increments (SC account is the salary deposit account) since the last enhancement wad made
Got a response that they will increase the limit from 3.78L to 5.3L and the same will reflect from 15th June 2022. No attachments or proof needed to be sent.
