Bhim Launched UPI Circle ⭕

I think UPI is something which should only be in the respective person's control. Even if family or not there can be other ways of making payments from your friends or anyone, one can even simply send the QR code. In order to simplify it through tech, we are not looking at the main question; is the objective of this feature completely necessary and whether the risk to benefit ratio is justifiable.

You need to scan or put UPI ID, following primitive way on paying someone's behalf, whereas via Circle Primary user is not required to do so, he can choose either to approve each txn or to set monthly limit upto 15k. That's good a feature. Both can track txns history. Needs, consent to add and get added.

I don't find any extra risk. It's same more or less like UPI only, if full delegation is given.

Tried using my two numbers in two different mobiles. The second number does not have any bank acct linked to it. My objective was to test whether this can be used by my teenaged daughter or by myself, when at locations where the primary number has network issues.
1. Only Bank Acct will work.
2. I have 4 acct linked to to primary, Axis & AU with physical DC, NSDL & Jio with virtual DC. For UPI circle only Axis and AU were coming. So possibly, acct with physical DC only work
3. There are two modes, delegate mode and approval mode. Under approval mode, all txn go to primary user for approval with his pin and needs to be approved within 10 minutes. Which makes it unusable when the primary user is busy or unavailable. Under delegate mode it is supposed to work like UPI lite, making payment directly without any PIN by either primary or secondary user. For limit delegate mode, there is no option to set per txn limit and only monthly limit can be set. But in reality, it does not work. Txn is initiated but it fails to complete.
So as of now, this is a useless junk.

Were you testing on BHIM pay app? Do you know if UPI Circle is also available on other UPI apps?
