Can i ask for bill period change after my bill is generated by calling customer care?

Yes you will call him anytime and change the date but it can be done only once in 6 months.

Any date change will start prospectively, not retrospectively

so it will not change my current bill period but changes will take effect from next billing period?

yes.. once in a lifetime.. only if all. dues are clear.. call cc and ask for chg.. some banks allow more than once as well

For Axis it will change the current billing cycle as well.
For eg: I changed my billing date from 20th of August to 1st Sept. The bill didn't get genrated on 20th Aug and it shifted to 1st Sept. In Axis you can change the billing date once in Every year
