Buy 55k XBOX from 50K limit?

My friend recently applied for FK Axis bank credit card, but he got just 50k limit
He wants to purchase an XBOX for 55k so that he can get 5% discount on that. But he can't as his limit is only 50K

He was thinking of overlimit facility but I denied as it's chargeable and 500 minimum extra is to be paid if I'm not wrong. So is there any way that he can purchase that product? By paying 6K extra maybe in credit card bill?

Any other approach will be appreciated

Try getting this through vendor and negotiate the 5% discount. In that case you can pay 50k with card and rest by other mode.

Then repay the 6k towards the card.
Again make payment of 49k for the Xbox

For future purchases, prepaying the extra amount on the card will also work. It will increase the available limit on your card since the balance would go negative.

No this does not work in Axis cards. I have tried. Only onecard allows this afaik.

It works for SBI cards as well, SBI card also allows you to withdraw excess amount in your card account to be transferred straight to your bank.

Withdrawing is different. SBI does not allow over-limit transactions(unless you are availing overlimit facility).

You can't make payment over the limit.

Doesn't work for axis but some banks do allow it
