Buying gold coin using Amazon pay vouchers from amex

Hey amex useres!
I'm thinking about getting into amex ecosystem. My strategy is to buy 4 or 6 Amazon pay gift vouchers (depending on the card) each month to reach amex milestones and keep storing them for few months to have enough balance to buy gold coins using those gift card balance.
Do this trick work? Can I buy gold coins using Amazon pay vouchers or at Flipkart using Flipkart vouchers?

P.S. My utility bills are too low (1-2k) to fully use 6k Amazon pay balance each month.

As of today, you can. Not sure after 4 or 6 months, if amzn put any restrictions on using gift card on gold purchase. So, if your solo purpose is amzn voucher or purchasing gold then do reconsider, alternative when these vouchers not available in amex or not accepted in amzn.
