Hi ,

I want to buy iphone 16 pro 256gb

In india current price is 1.22L (i might get for ~1.1with cc discount)

In usa its 1099* tax usd. My friend is is visiting USA for tourist purpose. Any way to avoid paying tax?

Whats best way to buy? I saw couple of people saying claiming warranty is problem sometimes .

What I prefer doing is:
Buying last year's model in India only duirng BBD / GIF sale period ..

From usa i will get phone for 1.02-1.05 with taxes in india BDD may be 1.22 i might become around 1.1 with axis offer+atlas accor returns

If you are planning to buy from USA then i will recommend it to buy it directly from the apple stores/ apple.com. I have purchased multiple iphone's from USA and never faced any issues in claiming warranty in India/ globally.

FYI: As of date the cheapest price is in Dubai. You can get it for around 90k.

Official Apple store price Dubai is higher than US Apple store but you can go to Meena Bazar, Bur Dubai and will find alot of big electronic shops (like city talk) selling genuine apple products at cheap price (as compared to official apple stores). They sell all models - Hong Kong version (dual sim), Japan (1 physical + 1 eSim) & US version as well (e-sim only). Just google/ YouTube it and you will be able to find all these stores. Majority of the Indians travelling to Dubai purchase their mobile phones/ electronics from these shops and it does carry official apple warrants and comes with proper Tax Invoice.

We bought iPhone 15 pro max from Meena Baazaar in Dec 2023. It was around 1L (we were able to get cash from friends who normally send cash to India so didn't have to pay conversion).

The difference between shops can be upto say 200AED and you can bargain around 100 AED.

We were able to validate warranty on Apple website right after the purchase before we left the shop (Shopkeepers offer it themselves)

I have no option to buy from Dubai..but can get from USA for aroun 1.05 with taxes (las vegas is the state)..and in BBD i think I might get for 1.1...what should i do?
 
Tourist from USA should be able to get Tax refund from USA Airport (VAT), if you are not having USA passport? This is my understanding, as applicable on other countries, even in Dubai.

Are these reliable stores?
 
rupee is deprecating badly otherwise i would have got phone cheaper by 2-3 k 2 month back.
No complaints though ,80 % of my portfolio is in dollars.
