can I complaint about this to RBI ombudsman and get compensation ?

in early 2023 or late 2022 I got FK axis card & later around oct 2023 I closed it because I was not using it that much.

now in 2024 NEO card was being offered as LTF so I got that to take benefit of zomato offers, but when I tried to log in to internet banking & to Axis bank app I was not able to log in. the error message told me to visit nearest bank branch to activate account, so I did that, but bank staff saff had no idea why it is showing me this error, all they told me is to open a savings account with them (25k AMB) and then they can help me. but since I only have credit card they cannot help. so they keep sending me to different bank employees & different branches saying that they might know. This all happened in around May and since no one was able to help, I gave up.


Now I recently applied for Airtel Axis CC but since I already have an account ID (even if its inactive) they are not allowing me to register as new customer & since my account is inactive I cannot use my old account.

so I tried to applying CC with my other mobile number (linked with aadhar & PAN) but they denied my application with reason that the number dosent match with existing account.

so on 30th nov I sent an email to axis bank CS

nodalofficer@axisbank.com,
pno@axisbank.com

asking them to help me with my account activation and how I have been to multiple branches and met multiple employees and no one has helped me.


after sending that email around 3 or 4th dec I got a call from axis bank, they asked me to send names of the employees, branch name, IFSC code to them and they will inquire why their employees were not cooperative, and they told me to visit the branch again. so I did that 6th dec and I havent heard back anything from them since.

I again visited the branch, even the head branch but no one was able to help.


so now I am thinking should I just create a savings account & keep 25k there just to get the account activated? or should I report it to RBI?

also will I get compensated for all the troubles?
 
Unfortunately, I do not think this will stand with RBIO, unless there if proof for all the visits to the branchrs and harsh treatment by the employees.

From next time try to collect proofs, if possible

Happened a similar incident with me. Did not bother with RBIO, even though I had proofs of call recordings and all mails, as my problem was finally solved.

I dont have records from my conversation in early 2024. but I do have email copy of the mail I sent on 30th nov. is that not enough?

if I wait till mid Jan is that enough time? can i contact RBI after that?

My question is why do you need to login to apply for CC? I have applied 4 axis cards, never logged in.

when I was trying to apply for new CC I was not able to do it because my account was inactive & their website & app was giving me error about inactive account.

so I dont really want to login to their portal but I need an active account.

using any other number to apply for CC got my application rejected

Please share screenshots. Haven't heard anything like this before. You don't need any account to apply for CC.
