Hi everyone,
I recently visited Canara branch to open (or have) a savings account with Canara Bank, and now they are insisting on a field visit by a representative. They mentioned they also need to collect geo-tag information during this visit.
This is the first time I’ve heard of such a requirement for a regular savings account.
Is this a new RBI/KYC guideline or something specific to Canara Bank?
Has anyone else faced a similar situation recently? Would appreciate if someone can shed some light on whether this is becoming common across banks or if it's an isolated case.
