I am planning for SBI BPCL credit card apply.

Which documents will be better for higher approval chances,

Card to card or with Salary slip.

Going to apply via branch.

Any specific reason?
Well they're public banks. Most of the time the representatives are clueless about the various features of the card provided. For them, many a time, a credit card is a credit card, doesn't matter which one you're taking. Many people have faced problems while applying through branch, including myself. I had applied for Eterna(which I mentioned in the form) from Bob. Easily met all requirements, but they gave me Premier instead!

Maybe not all branches are the same. But why take risk? When you apply online, you have proof and things are usually structured. If they issue a lower card, you can complain to RBI with proof maybe.

I applied HDFC millennia online they gave me Moneyback card. I had proof of Millennia, screenshot of their website and form. Still nothing happened 😅.

Anyway I need SBI BPCL card just to take advantage of SBI instant discount offers. That's it.

It is lowest card of SBI, so There should not be any issue. I guess 😅

This is not expected from a private bank like HDFC. Least they can do it inform you that they can't issue Moneyback and ask permission for issuing Millenia. Further, they usually send application status by SMS/email(which usually includes card name) and you can cancel anytime if you're not satisfied by the downgraded card.

All the best 👍

Yes, I told customer care the same. It least inform me that you are going to downgrade the card. I did not accept the courier and ask them to close that card.
