Cashback Not Received on High-Value Transaction – Null MCC Issue on Kiwi YES Bank Credit Card

Hi everyone,

I recently made a transaction of ₹83,950 at a bike showroom using my Kiwi YES Bank credit card to purchase a new bike. As per the card's benefits, I was expecting 2% cashback on this transaction. However, I haven’t received any rewards yet.

In the Kiwi app, it's showing that the transaction is associated with a *null* MCC and hence doesn’t qualify for cashback. This seems odd for a high-value POS transaction at a legitimate bike showroom.

I’ve attached screenshots for reference. I also have the invoice and can share it if needed.

Has anyone faced something similar? What should I do next to raise this and ensure I get the cashback?

Maybe the transaction would be marked as fuel MCC and paid via QR thus no rewards received.
Some showrooms do this, there are various threads on TF similar to this.
Be happy that this wasn't physical POS transaction otherwise fuel surcharge bhi lag jata.. UPI QR ki wajah se you didn't get fuel surcharge.

Pay Rs 1 to same merchant again, via any HDFC/Axis/IDFC card and fetch MCC. If you find that MCC is eligible for rewards than start escalating this issue.

1. Find the MCC with other cards u have (where u can speak with human customer not chat bots).
2. If that MCC is eligible for cashback, escalate..

without knowing MCC, we can't do anything. If there are any humans support in Kiwi for you, can check with them about this 'null' MCC.

MCC 5533. Done 1rs transaction for verification with IDFC rupay CC and attached the pdf. Should this be sufficient guys.

if excluded then u cant do anything. not only kiwi, applies any bank card. Ultimately its depends on mcc and if that eligible then only you'll get points. Its there in TnCs for all banks.

Next time, when u going for big txns, do sample.. find mcc.. use right card.

Bhai mere paas wale petrol pump pe qr se pay karne par bhi surcharge lagta hai.

surprisingly same exclusions (even less) compared to 🪓 card and more or like same for cashback cards. If u throw it away, then there are several other cards will follow 😉

I always do a 50rs transaction and check if kiwis are getting credited, before doing a high value transaction. Lot of exclusions, that we won't anticipate.
