Changing account varient in RBL Bank from 10k MAB to lower MAB

Hi Community members, is it possible to change the account varient in RBL Bank from a higher MAB account to a lower MAB account after account opening? If yes, what's the process and how?

Due to address issues in my aadhar card I am not able to open a Digital account. So I am thinking to open an Offline account from Branch with 10k MAB. They don't have any other lower varient account. But I don't want to park 10k in this account. I already have HDFC, ICICI, SBI, IDBI, AU, Jupiter accounts. Please suggest. Is it wise enough to go with 10k MAB account for Signature+ Debit card?

As far as I know, it's not allowed to downgrade to a lower variant account.

Open the 2.5k or 5k account. The branch may deny it, but you can reach out through Twitter, give Bamboo, and they will gladly open the account. 🤭

Branch people are telling those lower varient accounts are for Online only with transaction restrictions. Spoke with customer care, they are telling to change the aadhar address, then try Online. I am not going to change Aadhar address just for a saving account. Will check with the Twitter team, dekhte hai woh log kya paramarsh dete hai.

Branch ke naam pe complaint daal do Twitter pe baki woh dekh lenge 😁

What do you mean by transaction restrictions? I have recently opened an online account for rbl signature+ debit card since the nearest branch is 90km away.

If you do too many high volume transactions on the digital account the system will freeze your account for security reasons. To unfreeze, you will have to visit the branch and redo KYC and other formalities.

Is there anyway to prevent it? I have opened digital saving account and also ordered the signature plus card, wasn't aware about such thing. I can't visit the branch as well.
