Changing DCP to Visa/MasterCard

Is there a possible way to get DCP changed to Visa/MasterCard variant?

I tried exchanging emails with HDFC upto PNO level but they are adamant that they will not change my variant, neither upgrade my card.

I am facing a lot of acceptance issue especially for international txns as most of the websites I pay on only accept Visa or MasterCard.

Is it advisable to close the card altogether? I've only held it as this is is my oldest credit card. Is there is any RBI rule which can help?

No. RBI rule applicable only if that card available in multiple networks.

SBI Simplyclick available in Amex, Cisa, MasterCard. In this case, you can choose the network as you like..

But DCP available only in Diners and possible to switch Millennia or Regalia Gold based on income, spending pattern, relationship, card limit. Have to exchange mails multiple times with patience.

If not needed can close it.

Yes, upgrade through any card possible. You just have to satisfy their requirement be it spends or your luck.
