Chardham Yatra- Need advise on travel options & itinerary

I am planning for the Chardham yatra around mid May this year. The starting point will be Bangalore & I want to cover Kedar, Badri, Gangotri, Yamunotri & everything that comes in between like Rishikesh & Haridwar etc. I need your inputs on a few of the points below.

1) Which airport is nearer to start the tour?
2) A rough itenary would be of great help from someone who has already completed this.
3) How many days is ideal for this trip (I am okay with 7-10 days)
4) Best mode of transport for covering these places
5) Any other tips & advise.

Dehradun is your best bet if you wish to land in Uttrakhand else book a ticket for Delhi and then proceed further. If you are a couple less than 40, rent a bike that would give you the best experience.

Traveling with my mother, so bike ride will be difficult.

Hi, I think you will definitely need 10 days for char dham, considering relaxed stops and also inadvertent delays due to weather conditions.

chatgpt gave good itinerary , probably better than what I could have done 🙂 it is very similar to the one we took

Are you traveling as group along with both of you ? If yes, private transport might be best. Travel groups are also good option.

Kedarnath will be the longest one, are you looking at using mules / doli / helicopter ?

May is good season, so generally weather should be fine though unpredictable sometimes.
Also I think that is when char dham starts so might have some crowds.

Dehradun might be good option for flight as others mentioned. I think you have direct flights from Bangalore too.

Yes, it's only me & my mom so will probably get a private transport.
Also, we plan to do the Kedarnath trek & not use mules or dolis.
Will start exploring the dehradun flights right away.

Welcome. In my case, it was a package trip and they only provided hotels. They aren't that great but you would anyway stay at hotel just for nights to sleep

In case you are booking private transport, maybe consider packages where both transport and accommodation are taken care of.
