The Positive Pay System (PPS) is a security measure that banks use to prevent cheque fraud. The system involves the cheque issuer providing certain details to the bank at least 24 hours before presenting the cheque:
Account number, Cheque number, Date of cheque, Amount, Transaction code, Beneficiary name, and MICR code.
