Close Atlas with Negative miles

Hey!

SHOULD I cancel my Axis Atlas with Negative miles:

I do have about -8k miles ( negative 8000 due to a refund). My overall spend is just over 7.5L and in gold tier.

What do you suggest to not lose the miles on future transactions:
1. Continue this card to spend an overall 15L (possible) and get 10k miles as bonus and other miles on spends.
2. Cancel this card, and then apply for a new Atlas card and spend there along with welcome benefits. Also, is there a cool-off period before applying for a new one?

Even if you do this, the negative miles will stay. (from what I have heard)

Axis can go down to any level to get back their money/points and it's morally right to return back since it was a refund indeed.
If they had taken your genuine points, that could have been a different story.

I would suggest going with option 1 if you really like your card and would like to continue long term banking with Axis.
