Now I created an FD with IDFC when they'd just opened in 2016 or so -- the associated operative account became dormant and all. I activated it in April or so and then I got pre-approved Classic credit card. I think for my income level, Select would make more sense (and I'm sick of the blue colour of the Classic card).
I was interested in having a WOW card -- but the portal simply wouldn't allow me to apply for it. I said 🤬 it and went ahead with the pre-approved stuff. Since I'm SICK of the blue colour, and they thankfully also let me take Millenia instead of Classic (and I'm male, meaning I get the red version), I applied to get that.
I got it, started using it and all. Then I went to the portal and applied WOW. But that 🤬 portal STILL gives trouble! In fact, this time, my 50K FD got created (those 🤬 don't let you get the max-interest FD, and instead put the duration close to 1 year) -- and THEN the 🤬 portal would be unable to "find" my application when I wanted to start the VKYC. 🤬! I called them up, and told them to fully destroy my Millenia application because I've already got the card, so that the portal would be able to find a unique application. They still haven't fixed it!
So I went ahead and managed the minimum spend for welcome gift - and just finished redeeming my welcome gift on BigBasket.
I'm thinking if I should close the card now. Could that help me get Select or WOW (or Wealth 🤑) down the line? Though coming to WOW, I probably have better things to do with my limited money than making a mediocre-interest FD.
Btw I just got my 3L limit Alum scheme ICICI Sapphiro approved. How much should it age before I use it to get Select?
Anyway, should I:
1. Keep Millenia and ask for upgrade to Select in a few months (i.e., be a 😇 good boy, despite their 🤬 portal)
2. Threaten to close Millenia unless they give me Select
3. Actually close Millenia, and maybe ask for Select later?
I don't particularly need Select, but I want some sort of revenge against the their 🤬 portal!
