Compare Swiggy vs Zomato Membership? Esp for single person low value infrequent food orders? Cash Payment Vs when combined with specific CCs?

Had medical issues so cant/ dont each from outside much.

But every once in a while I'll need to delivery some simple health stuff, typically paid DELIVERY CHARGE per instance.

For eg Swiggy at 250 for 3 mos, if I hit 5/6 orders (quite likely if not always) then it makes sense to get it.

Whats the comparative with Zomato?

Especially my orders are light stuff that typically range from 100 - 150/ 200 "total".

Suggestions on S vs Z .. with Cash payment. and maybe some CCs ?

have had both
zomato is way better
because in 199/249/299 for 3 months you get unlimited deliveries compared to 10 swiggy+ 10 instamart deliveries at 149 .
secondly zomato has unifromity in coupon codes while swiggy has coupon codes based on order footfall.
thirdly zomato has late delivery coupon which gives you a coupon usable on non coupon restaurants

Swiggy is a better choice if you want to use instamart. If you have a secondary phone, use swiggy and zomato apps on that as well. You will receive membership offers for cheap.

Depends on area. Have seen Swiggy offer better discount and prices in my area. Where as some other area zomato better. Can’t put a blanket statement.
Zomato provides gold membership free sometimes. It’s gift cards are available at higher discount.
If you have a particular cc like hdfc Swiggy, go for that brand. Else keep on checking which offers better deals without buying membership first.
Also min order value for Swiggy is 150 and 200 for zomato.(please double check).

Havent seen the 149 offer? Is that limited to some people/ areas?
Is it limited to 10?

I've used the 249 for 3Mo from Swiggy. offer.

Since I was unwell I never used any much.

My cousin once got 79/- offer in same evening while I got 249/- I was like WTF.

Nice. I was upset recently when uncooked raw uncooked food complain with pics to Swiggy was met with, we ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE, you can rate the restaurant.

I was like you take a cut and act as a agency & middleman, You can hold payments to them and fine them and give my money back.

Havent escalated but would like to do so. Any tips?

Yes, you will notice the difference in coupons and one/gold subscription as well. These apps tend to offer cheap prices on lesser used accounts.

After using both, I found swiggy one better. For free delivery, minimum order is 149 whereas in Zomato gold it was 199. And I don't remember any distance restrictions in swiggy but Zomato had 10 Kms only restriction. And I use Instamart and Dineout with hdfc CC regularly but I guess it should be the same with blink it and no such CC discount for hdfc though coupons are available.

swiggy also has 10km restriction
while mov value is higher for zomato
swiggy has restaurant footfall based coupons
while zomato has no such thing
this has been the biggest difference for me between both

Oh okay. Thanks. I was not aware of it. May be a year ago or during covid, I got free deliveries from far away restaurants which are around 12 or 13 Kms with Swiggy. It was called Super I remember.

I took Zomato RBL card for life time Pro membership but didn't expected it's life is so short. So let Zomato RIP.

Anyway, both have inflated costs from restaurants to cover their commission to apps.

Swiggy and Zomato both have the exact same price for most restaurants. And for both it's becoming difficult to apply bank specific vouchers of 150rs when the restaurants themselves have 150 off coupons by default. So I specifically reserve the bank offers for the select few restaurants without the default offers and Swiggy has more of such bank offers although a lot of banks have offers for both platforms.

Otherwise the aspects of both Swiggy One and Zomato Gold are almost the same. The difference between them is that Swiggy has Dineout and Instamart while Zomato has the on time guarantee and generally faster deliveries so if I am really hungry I order via Zomato. Swiggy used to have faster deliveries but the service has degraded a lot, I don't think they have a VIP system like Zomato either.

I get 10% off on both of them via GVs, Swiggy HDFC and Airtel Axis and also via the payment offers(IndusInd, RuPay, etc.). I have at least 15-20k spend on these apps every month since the last 5-6 years (yes, I order daily) so I use all the offers possible. No Infinia or other super premium card for better benefits unfortunately.

Swiggy and Zomato both had their prime time a long time back when it came to offers (anyone remember the Swiggy slots game?). Don't expect any more of the VC funded coupons. Now restaurants have raised their prices by 20-30% while giving 10% off default coupons.

When did it start as per you?

Googling it shows news articles from 3 days ago saying offer is on for

Launch price of Rs 99 now. Dont see where.

I dont see it in Swiggy App, just varying price GVs on few places.
