cred app forging payment history and CRIF score

creditguru

TF Buzz
I came across two very shocking observations on the cred app, detailing each of them below.

Issue1:

- I checked for CRIF score on cred app and it was showing 739 as on 20-Feb-25. I also had CRIF subscription, so I just checked same day there too and found it was actually 817 as on 20-Feb-25.

- I asked cred support about the discrepancy, they replied that CRIF has changed some algorithm and that's why they are not able to fetch. But on call they were not able to answer how were they showing wrong score because if they fetch directly from CRIF and do not have any intervention in between then they must display the correct score. This means cred was faking CRIF score.

- What happened next after my intense questioning, in next couple of days they changed from CRIF to CRIF and CIBIL and after that to solely CIBIL. And now they ask for consent to enroll to get CIBIL score, no mention of CRIF.

Issue 2:

- I have been a member of cred since January 2019 and have been paying credit card bills on the app since then.

- In February 2025, I asked cred support to provide me my complete credit card bill payment history since Feb-19.

- First they provided payment history of last year. I pointed out that I need complete history.

- Then they provided it from Feb-22. Again I raised complaint. This time they again provided from Feb-22 but incomplete details with just date and amount, did not provided bank name and masked credit card number. Again raised complaint.

- Now, the forgery of cred comes in picture. Firstly, they provided history from Oct-19 and not from Feb-19. Secondly, they forged some of the values in the statement they sent. For the first 13 entries, they mentioned low double digits as the amount which was suspicious, however when I checked with my statements, I found those double digit amounts were definitely wrong.
- For a simple payment history that they can easily fetch from the system, they took more than 2 months of time and forged that too. It's customer's right to have his/her financial data available on demand. I would urge others who have been on cred app since 2018-19 to ask for entire payment history.

I have raised complaint in National Consumer Helpline. Need guidance on what legal action can I take or if it comes in the ambit of RBIO.
