CREDIT CARD AVAILABILITY FOR STUDENT WITH CIBIL 764 and NO CC

First of all You need some pateince, while you are student now I recommend you to Get paylater from Flipkart, Amazonpay, Lazypay or anywhere. Use some limits regularly and pay before the date.after 2 month apply for Slice and Onecard, i am damn sure Slice card will be approved, may be they will give you lower limit. Bingo use this card for 3-4 month and your cibil will be generated and grown enough to get a SBI cibil base card or any other too. Or you can open Normal Saving account ( Not Zero Balance ) in HDFC, Kotak, Axis or Indusind Bank and maintain balance 15k for 4 months you will get preapproved offer

Can you please suggest ways to get my first CC

The best way will be stating with credit against some fixed deposit. You can start with a small amount initially to have a credit history. Once you get a credit card against a fixed deposit, do the regular transaction with that credit card and pay all dues timely. You can check SBI Student Plus Advantage Card, ICICI Bank Student Travel Card, Axis Bank Insta Easy credit card.

Your CIBIL score is good. So do one thing, Take ICICI Platinum CC against FD. Now put an FD amount of what you like.

My preferred would be the amount you use, it must be 30%... So if you spend 30k pm, put an FD of 1l... Don't make it hard on yourself.

If you don't have that much money, just spend 1k or 2k on the CC to keep the CUR good. Now after you have a good score, use or upgrade that CC. Most banks dont accept C2C Secured CCs.

Edit:
Banks do not give CCs to students except cards like OneCard, which is the only credit card.
Slice, UniPay etc are credit lines and have been regulated recently by RBI making them stop issuing these cards.

Only ways to get a CC for student is.
1. Add-on card
Tell your parents to take a basic card, you can then apply for add on

2. Secured CCs
Make an FD of xx amount then you will get an instant credit card. There will be a minimum tenure for some banks, but you will get a card on your name. Taking Secured CC also increases your score.

1. SBI - SimplyCLICK.
2. ICICI - Platinum / MMT Platinum / Coral
3. HDFC - Tata Neu Plus / MoneyBack
4. Axis - My Zone / Ace
5. Take BoB Cards all are LTF offer running. Take Easy CC.
So, gradually increase ur score and when u get a job, live the dreams. Take Regalia, Millenia etc.

Good luck !
I had a doubt, after I get secured CC and use it for sometime. How exactly will I be able to get upgrade the CC?

Your credit score will increase, which increases the chances of upgarding the card. Call customer care and if your credit history is good. They may upgrade your card. And also, by the time you get a job, your credit score will be good, allowing you to take premium cards and/or loans (i e. Housing loans etc)

Take OneCard or Axis Insta Easy Card, they give it out for students. Or try for an add-on card, legally it's your parent's but you can manage the card. Or open a savings account with one of the banks, most probably they'll give you an credit card. That happened in my case. I have ICICI account, they offered me Coral CC for LTF, that's not even my salary account, so make sure u maintain a 20k avg balance then surely you'll get

CC against FD is the best option ar first. If you don't have much amount to make an FD in banks like Axis or ICICI then I'll recommend you OneCard. Some people do get the unsecured metal variant but most people get it with an FD of only 2k.
