Credit Card Network Portability

Regarding RBI circular asking banks to provide flexibility to customers to choose their preferred card network for credit cards.
Is there any update on this?

I still see new card launches on a specific network and am yet to see banks offering this choice.

Deadline for implementation was 6th September right? Let's wait till then and see what happens. Anyway it will be applicable only for new card issue or for renewals not for existing cards to switch network mid way.

and wherever the option is available.. many banks just don't have MC.. so... no option there

I wonder how the reward structure of card will work tie ups are with networks so if networks change they can't give same rewards
