Credit card Shuffling

kjs

TF Premier
I have the below Credit cards.

  1. Axis Flipkart - 500 per year
  2. Amazon Pay ICICI - LTF
  3. SBI Simply Save - 500 per year
  4. ICICI coral - LTF - Will upgrade to ICICI Rubyx - LTF
  5. BOB Premier - LTF
  6. Axis Neo - LTF

Which card should I close and which I should be still using. I can even add new cards for a perfect combination of credit cards. I am checking with HDFC CC if I can get Regalia LTF.
If I dont get Regalia I would like opt a a card with similar annual fee as Regalia (range 2500 Rs - 3000 Rs) but it should be an all rounder Credit card also I am not a frequent traveler(Flight). My overall yearly spends on Credit card is in Range of 3- 6Lakhs

Keep one for each banking network... no need to close unless you don't use that banking network offer like SBI Card gives offer on Flipkart, same is given by HDFC/RBL/Axis sometime later... Check which shopping portals you use and which card network they most of time have offers on.

Side note--- Have myself seen Onecard offers with max discount on many shopping portals other than top 2 (Amazon/Flipkart)

- What's your salary or income (for direct application)?
(or)
- What is the limit of those cards (for c2c)? - 4L amazon Pay ICICI , 4L Coral , 2.7L - SBI , 2L- BOB ,1.25 for both Neo Ace & Flipkart , I had hdfc times card which I closed after 6 years of usage its limit was 5L
- What is the age of your Cibil report (did you obtained all these cards in 2022 itself, might be risky for new applications)? - in 2022 i took Axis Neo , BOB Premier
- How do you want to redeem benefits? as cashback or rewards (since you don't like flight)? - As Cashbacks
- Most of the spend categories (for 3-6 lakhs)? - Insurance payment - Term , LIC , Medical , Bills - Grocery Bills , Utility Bills , Train Travel , Offline & Online Shopping

Sorry for asking these questions (you do not need to answer any of them, if you want) but your post didn't mentioned anything but direct recommendations. - Thats ok more the details , it can help you with better suggestions

What's best for me, may not be useful to you. - Agreed

If those 3-6 lakhs from amazon - amazon pay best
from Flipkart - Flipkart best
Both Amazon and Flipkart - Millennia or SBI Cashback best
(again these recommendations for cashback point of view, if you're okay with rewards we can replace with better cards but those have to redeem rewards). - Yes please suggest if any better rewarding here

No where Axis Neo, BOB Premier, SBI Simply Save or Coral/Rubyx best but useful for 10% bank specific offers (if spends on during offers only). - Yes you are right , I might close SBI Simply Save & replace with a better SBI Card. Rest other are LTF so I will keep them for specific unexpected requirements as you told.

For these specific categories, your existing cards best and no changes needed (in fact you have best card collection to get most of the return for 3-6 lakhs and all online offers but again that depends on where you spend mostly).

My reply in bold above, I am thinking to take a midrange card , so that 1 or 2 cards will suffice most of the needs.

Item 1 and 3 u can upgrade to some high variant even though it is charged
Cos if u research we’ll ltf cards won’t make u earn good rewards
IMO pay fees for good cards and get feeXmultiple time rewards
Rewards can be cb or points or airmiles
Again it’s my experience when 10yrs back collected ltf cards and just keeping didn’t do any good to me
Now the below are paid but I’ll get more than fee what I pay:
Magnus
Amex gold, SE and MRCC all without referrral scheme
Sbi cb
Scb Manhattan
My ltf now are icici Apay and coral, IndusInd legend, regalia

Close Axis Flipkart - Replace with SBI Cashback. 1000 fee from second year waved off on spends of 2 lakh. Use it on Amazon and FK for orders. This card gives flat 5% cashback on almost all online payments. Keep it with some other SBI card as SBI bank offers are not applicable on this card.
Get Regalia LTF it's a good card.
Get IDFC and IndusInd cards. They are offering good LTF cards these days.

ICICI Amazon Pay / SBI Cashback - 5%+ for grocery, utility bills, Train Travel, online shopping.

SCB Smart / AMEX MRCC - 2%~5% for Insurance (if not available in amazon) etc. online.

1% Cards / AMEX MRCC - 1%~5% AMEX MRCC through wallet loading - Offline Shopping, Medical & Grocery (if vouchers for shopping available then Smartbuy/Grabdeals upto 5%).

New cards - SBI Cashback, SCB Smart, HDFC Millennia (LTF only), AMEX MRCC

For 10% offers - SBI SimplySave, BOB Premier, ICICI Rubyx, Axis Neo

Close - Axis Flipkart (13% Off might be useful).

SCB Smart can help you get Ultimate (3.33% for all spends and can be obtained if existing SCB card has >4L limit).

Fees: 1770
SimplySave - 590
Cashback - 1180

Smart - waived if spends 1.2L (focus insurance spends here)
MRCC - waived if spends 1.5L (focus offline spends here)

Note: Do not go for LTF cards unnecessarily if you're not using it.
I dont have much indea on Amex cards ..will check online ..
Close - Axis Flipkart (13% Off might be useful). - what does this mean ?
For offline spends do you think amex mrcc can give more cashback than flipkart axis bank ?
Acis neo - used for movie tickets
Bob cc - Get 50₹ discount on mobile bill payment evry month.
Icici coral - have taken it as i got free with salary account..

But for high variant cards if spending is high and on travel side then i think it sill be more useful ..my spending is any where between 3-6 lakhs and that too is distributed evey month..I will get the premium cards dont know even if i will be eligible for the same..

I dont have much indea on Amex cards ..will check online ..

Applied for sbi cashback card ..got virtual card withon 10 mins..did not know this otherwise would have applied aftr 2 months when my flipkart card is expiring 😁 .. can you recommend any other card similar to flipkart axis that gives atleast 1.5% cashback on other spends..

ICICI Amazon Pay / SBI Cashback - 5%+ for grocery, utility bills, Train Travel, online shopping.

SCB Smart / AMEX MRCC - 2%~5% for Insurance (if not available in amazon) etc. online.

New cards - SBI Cashback, SCB Smart, HDFC Millennia (LTF only), AMEX MRCC

For 10% offers - BOB Premier, ICICI Rubyx, Axis Neo

Amazon 50Rs. Bill Payment Offers - BOB Premier, Axis Neo

Movies - Rubyx, Neo

Close - Axis Flipkart (5% and during Flipkart sales it gives additional (8% up-to 20K) = 13% if you want to utilize this, then keep this card otherwise close and use neo card for direct 10% discount), SCB Smart will work for insurance etc. spends.

Close - SimplySave (use someone else SBI card for 10% sale offers, if you want), try to get SBI Cashback.

Regalia not useful and not much difference when compared to Millennia except "lounge support" otherwise max. you'll gain 1% extra but rewards (only opt Regalia or Millennia if LTF only).

MRCC read this article for detailed process, basically you have to spend 1500x4 times each month to get 1000 bonus points (1p=0.35p+).
- this 1500 can be spent anyway like wallet loads, fuel, etc.
- use it on Paytm and spend offline (there are ways to load without charges, search and use effectively).

SCB Smart can help you get Ultimate (3.33% for all spends and can be obtained if existing SCB card has >4L limit).

Fees: 1180
Cashback - 1180

Smart - waived if spends 1.2L (focus insurance spends here)

Would suggest not closing the SBI SimplyClick card. As the SBI card offers are not applicable on the Cashback card so you would need a different SBI card for the SBI offers.

With Ace, smart has limited scope but I suggest you to apply this one (for insurance, wallet rewards) and currently they're providing 1+ nord earbuds as free (worth ~2000Rs = 4 years of fee). Not bad IMO.

BTW, i'm not talking about digi smart - https://www.sc.com/in/credit-cards/smart-credit-card/ this one.

MRCC ignore for now, will see about it later. Hope you considered below points regarding Ace.
My comments in bold below
Ace Features:

Online
-
- 10% off during sales + 2% - That is amazing , So flipkart axis card can be easily closed now
- Bill payment - 5% (Electricity, water, gas, LPG and broadband, DTH and mobile recharges through Google Pay*) - Yes
- Swiggy, Zomato and Ola** 4% - Yes

Offline
-
- 2% (except gold/insurance/jewelry) - I did not know that it is not acceptable for paying insurance. I pay insurance every quarter of 20k. Need to check which card can provide benefit related to this , I know you said std charted smart cc .

Few notes regarding Features:

Not much useful for...

> Online

- Swiggy/Zomato - always has 100rs. offer (most of the time). - Yes , But can be useful over direct coupon codes(No bank cards) for additional cashback

- Electricity/gas/LPG - 10% discount on amazon pay with IndusInd/BOB (limited to 500Rs.). - BOB gives this benefit only once a month

- Broadband - Usually a year pack gives 15-20% with some benefits. - Yes

- Mobile Recharges - Usually a year pack comes with a discount of 15-20%. - I use postpaid so I use BOB card here

(Combine both Broadband and Mobile Recharges with amazon pay/paytm coupons or offer for extra benefit).

- DTH - Usually a year pack comes with a discount of 10-20% depends on negotiating skills. - Dont know if I can negotiate here , But i do lumpsum recharge based on the best offer that i can apply at that time

> Offline

- not useful for Grocery/Movies/Dining (compared with other cards). - I got cooperate food card recently will use for Grocery & dinning(not yet checked)

- not useful for departmental stores (good discounts on e-vouchers). -

----
Unless someone pays huge bill on electricity, a normal household person doesn't have much benefit with Ace card. My opinion - Yes will use for 1 year if dont find it useful then will close

Tried to apply for https://www.sc.com/in/credit-cards/smart-credit-card/ but while applying it needs Id proof as Passport , DL, Voter card .. Neither of these have address of my current residence only adhar is having the current address where I stay right now. Do you think it will be still an issue ?

IMO it is a very good card for blanket 2% CB without any hassle of trying to maximise CB, credits directly next month and even rounds up in amount, so personally love this card.
