DCB metal quarterly milestone tracking

Anyone who upgraded to DCB metal shed some light on whether transactions that don't accrue reward points like fuel, wallet or government are still counted for quarterly milestone benefit?
Quarterly milestone tracking is available at https://offers.smartbuy.hdfcbank.com/diners
May be any DCB metal owner can compare tracker before and after doing any above transaction?

I think this will help any plastic DCB owners to decide on whether to update to metal or not. (like myself)

Yes those transactions to get counted against milestone. I had asked customer support before paying income tax using DCBM. It doesn't give reward points, but it is considered as "spend" for milestone.

So, depending on how far you are from the quarterly milestone - you may still end up making decent rewards.

I have recently started moving all my UPI spends to DCBM via Amazon Wallet @ 2.35% credit card loading charge.

Since DCBM is not supported for wallet loading, I load money from DCBM to Payzapp wallet and then Payzapp to Amazon.

Then I use the Amazon Wallet money to pay for UPI.

This way I can reach the milestone easily instead of scrambling to find new avenues to spend to reach it.

How will you load from Payzapp to Amazon ?

so in this way , we will only get benefit of 0.15% on UPI Payment, right ? because we are already paying 2.35% charge to load money in Amazon Wallet and we will get only 10000 RP on milestone completion i.e. 2.5% as Wallet load wont be considered for base reward rate. Please confirm this or i am missing anything here ?

For the purpose of "expense" accounting, I think the full amount will be considered because that charge is being levied by Amazon not by HDFC (in case of income tax the tax is levied by HDFC).

If my main card is DCB and additional Tata Neu sharing same limit then in that case...... will the spends on Tata Neu be counted towards the overall Spending of main card DCB ?

The limit will be shared between 2 cards.
Assume your limit is 6 L, lets say you spend 1L on DCB and 50 K on Tata Neu. Then you overall remaining limit would be 6- (1+.5) = 4.5 L.

So to your question, if you spend on Tata Neu, the limit gets reduced from the overall combined limit, but spends are specific to the card.
So you will earn reward points separately for DCB and Neu coins for Tata Neu.

Let me rephrase my question. If I spend 6L on DCB and 2L on TNI(Tata Neu Infinity) Annually
will this entire 8 lakh be counted for my DCB annual fee wave off requirement. Or only 6L will be counted and i will have to pay 10K annual fee.

The effective reward rate would depend on how much you spend in other avenues because wallet loading doesn't yield any reward.

Also, Amazon Pay has now started accepting HDFC DCBM directly for wallet load - meanwhile Payzapp has started adding loading charges (anyway Payzapp wallet is not required now if Apay is directly supporting DCBM).

In a calendar quarter of 3 months, let's say, your UPI spends are 10k/mo = total 30k for the quarter.
To get the 10k bonus points, you have to spend 4L in a calendar quarter.

So remaining spend required = 4L - (30k * 1.0236) = 369292
Points @ base reward rate for the remaining spend = 369292 * 5 / 150 = 12309
Total rewards = 12309 + 10k bonus = 22309
Net effective reward rate = 22309 / 4L = 5.57%

The reward rate can possibly be much higher if you use the Gyftr vouchers etc.

It seems Milestone tracking on smartbuy shows older data. It hasn't updated show my spends from last 3 days. Any idea after how many days it updates. Is there a better way to track total spends for this quarter.
I see i may be lacking by hardly few thousand and only 2 days left so thought to inch it up IF I have exact numbers to go through

HDFC takes settlement date and not expense date for spends calculation. It normally takes 2 days for settlement to take place. Better spend those few thousands right away and hope they settle before midnight tomorrow. If you spend on last day i.e 30 sep, they definitely won't be counted towards spend for this quarter.

Based on your comment I have tried to achieve everything on 29th. Fingers crossed that all should be considered. But surprisingly the milestone tracker on smartbuy still havent updated anything from transaction i have done in last 5 days.

Shopped on 28th Sep, reflected in statement on 30 and still not counted towards milestone. Do I have a case to pursue once again with customer care. Should I pursue again based on these snapshots or leave it.

<<Response from HDFC>>
We observe that you incurred total spends amounting to Rs.378,104.00 during the third quarter. Since the required spends of Rs.400,000.00 was not met by you, the referred third quarter benefit was not provided for your Diners Black credit card.

Specific to your query raised regarding an amount of Rs.28,812.00 reflecting in your fourth quarter, we wish to clarify that as per terms and condition, the transactions are tracked as per the posted/settled date from third party/merchant to the bank and the posting/settlement date will be considered as contribution to the spend accrual and transaction count. We observe that the transaction incurred at M/s. Flipkart Payment for Rs.28,319.00 was settled by the merchant only on October 01, 2024. Hence, the said transaction value was included in your fourth quarter spends. We seek your understanding in this regard
