DCB Nostalgia - Semi Long Post with some irony.-2017
I heard about DCB 7 yrs ago and called HDFC to enquire. No one knew about it. Finally got hold of an application form with great difficulty and filled it. Dropped it into an Atm box. Got a call from a bank officer saying its a very premium card and we need many docs.. Submitted all docs as requested. ( NO OTHER HDFC RELATIONSHIP). Then another calls to say, we have another card called Infinia, take that instead od DCB!!! I refuse and insist in DCB.. then they agree and do all verifications including my social media accounts, YES, ITS TRUE. They even asked for my social media access to verify.. I did all that.. GOT THE CARD in about 2 weeks.. Fees used to be 5k per year. FYF with 5k reward points in return..Free Lounge access when it was still not as common as it is now.. 10 X on smartbuy for all including Amazon spends.. yes its true.. 33.33% in amazon spends and many others incl hotels, flights etc.. with much higher monthly limits.. They had preference partnerships that changed every month for 10 x apart from the main ones.. dont remember exactly.. Lots value back at that time when paid cards were really unheard of and rare... From there to today - where it is. common card, highly devalued with Infinia positioned higher!!!!
