Hello Everyone,
I am sharing a detailed information on how much time it can take to process a sbicard application.

P.S. It's based on my personal experience.It can very person to person & Place to Place.So, take a rough estimate.

Card: SBI PULSE

[1][21 Jan 2023][Saturday][11:21 AM]Agent Called For Application Submission.

[2][21 Jan 2023][Saturday][11:52 AM] Application Successfully Submitted.

[3][21 Jan 2023][Saturday][12:30 PM] Video Call/Video KYC Completed.

[4][21 Jan 2023][Saturday][01:23 PM] Got 1st Verification Call.

[5][21 Jan 2023][Saturday][01:43 PM] NESL e-sign completed.

[6][21 Jan 2023][Saturday][01:53 PM] Verification Call 01/Kolkata Verification Completed.

[7][22 Jan 2023][Sunday][6:04 PM] Got a message that my application is in progress & will take 11 working days.

[8][23 Jan 2023][Monday][3:47 PM]
Verification Call 02/Gurgaon Verification Completed.

[9][26 Jan 2023][Thursday][10:41 AM] Card Got Approved.

[10][28 Jan 2023][Saturday][04:38 AM] Got a message from bluedart that my card has been dispatched & will reach me by 30th Jan 2023.

[11][28 Jan 2023][Saturday][10:32 AM] Received a Call from sbicard protection plan.

[12][30 Jan 2023][Monday][11:03 AM] Received the card.

Yes, it takes roughly 7-10 days to get your card at your place, if the whole application goes butter smooth.

Experienced the same.

My offline application was rejected after step 7. No proper communication regarding the application status. Very pathetic service. 2/10.

Meanwhile yesterday afternoon I have applied for IDFC bank card, home verification happened today morning and within 1 hour virtual card is generated and linked to the IDFC app. Overall experience 9/10. (One less star because of low limit).

PS: I have 15+ year old SBI savings account but with IDFC no prior banking relationship.

Everything similar till step 7.
After that the application is stuck in "Verification In process" step and getting sms that status will be updated in 9 working days and 5 working days....but the timelines are not being followed.

Any inputs?

it's probably rejected. Enough days have passed.

SBI Vistara Basic for my mother & SBI Vistara Prime for my father via C2C agents.

Sbi follows completely different SOP for Cashback card.

Some people get lucky . Via agent speed up the process.

for one of my friends, applied via agent, approval came in like 10-15 days....and even after approval, the card hasn't been dispatched (5+ days)

No..... he was existing card member. they even asked to split the limit into two cards....but after that, the application again got stuck infinitely.... I know that he dint get the card, and dropped the pursuit

First I got 11 days sms and today got 9 days sms, I don’t hold any sbi card…hope mine doesn’t get stuck or declined😅

My timeline (actullay my wife's) of applying sbi card (simply save rupay )

Applied on 17.02.25 Monday 4.30PM thru home branch credit card agent.

Had home and office verification on 18.02.25 Tuesday morning.
Verification call from Chennai office on 18.02.25 Tuesday morning (after home and office verification).
18.02.25 Tuesday 1.00 PM - E sign application thru aadhar OTP.

Got approval msg on 19.02.25 Wednesday morning. Received link for e card generation. I messed up the link. So couldn't generate e card. So checked the limit via WhatsApp route and found to be 200K.

Card dispatched on 19.02.25 Wednesday evening from Mumbai via bluedart.

Card received on 21.02 25( today )Friday morning 9 Am at our residence address.

This is her first unsecured card . Having IDFC wow since may 2024(30K).

So started the process by Monday evening and received the card by Friday morning. Surprised that SBI cards worked this fast.


Funny thing is she applied for bpcl rupay on 13.12. 2024 thru sprint. After completing vkyc and verification call from chennai office, that application was kept dormant till last Saturday (15.03.25) wen it was declined after I contacted the branch cc agent to know whether they can do anything regarding the dormant application as it remained in verification stage for nearly 3 months. (Customer care jus asked to wait stating that application will be approved if everything is in order.)
