Do I need an Amex?

I have these cards with respective usage optimised for rewards.

1) HDFC Infinia metal - for shopping, Smartbuy, flight+hotels bookings etc ( Daily Driver )
2) HDFC Biz Black - for Paying Taxes
3) Axis Atlas - ( will kill this card soon because the "deval", mangus also closed because of true burgundy BS )
4) Indus EazyDinner Signature - for eazydinner deals.
5) HDFC + Tata Neu Infinity ( for tanishq, tata etc)

should i get an amex? if yes which one?
Requirement: New card should enhance my rewards source, Im planning to travel a lot in 2025. so air miles/ hotel loyalty points is preferred.

Amex is about hotel points
Not much rewarding in air miles in redemption

For travel
Go for Amex Platinum Travel as it gives min 48000 Rewards = 48000 Marrriot points + 10K Taj voucher on 4 Lakh spend

With Platinum Travel you can take either of MRCC or Gold Charge or both
On MRCC tx of 1500 x 4 and on Gold tx of 1000 × 6 will give you 1120 point monthly.
+ On MRCC if you spend 20k/month you will get more 1000 points

So with Amex Travel for 4L yearly + MRCC for 20k/month you will get
74640 point + 10 K taj voucher

If you add Gold charge in it for 6k/month spend
You will get additional 13440 points.

I didn't considered joining benefit points and accelerated points.

Above calculation is for base point. Which you can increase with rewards multiplier.

What "deval" on Atlas are you talking about specifically? Despite all this, Atlas is still most rewarding card out there, more so if you plan to travel and stay in Accor hotels in 2025. I would not suggest closing Atlas

Plat travel seems good, but there are issues with redemptions on Marriott... most likely you will not get MR point value of more than 0.6 - 0.65. Unless you are someone who looks at hotels first and then decides the location for Vacation

Take Plat travel only if you have significant spends on usually "excluded categories" such as insurance, Tax, Jewellery etc. Although since you have Infinia and Biz black, category exclusions are taken care mostly

I would say keep atlas if you're into accor hotels. Similarly, amex will provide value for marriott. For airlines, neither is that good.

you may have had a bad experience with axis (mine is with hdfc), otherwise, Atlas is a very good card if you can meet the spends. It has good returns for travel spends.

Amex is a good card for online spends. Offline spends does have acceptance issues.
