If you have a valid US, UK, or Schengen Visa, or previous travel history to UAE, they won't ask for any monetary proof. But for the first timers, they are enquiring about the finances at the Border Control.UAE started asking airlines to confirm that people have a credit card with 3000 AED limit per person (~70k INR per person). This was in May, not sure if they still do this or not. I traveled last in Dec and used VoA and was not asked anything.
