Dubai feasible on just cc or need cash?

UAE started asking airlines to confirm that people have a credit card with 3000 AED limit per person (~70k INR per person). This was in May, not sure if they still do this or not. I traveled last in Dec and used VoA and was not asked anything.

One of my friend traveled last week, will ask him if this is still the case. He traveled from BLR, while most reported cases of denied boarding were in COK
If you have a valid US, UK, or Schengen Visa, or previous travel history to UAE, they won't ask for any monetary proof. But for the first timers, they are enquiring about the finances at the Border Control.

Ohk, that makes sense, coz I asked my friend who traveled last week that they were not asked for anything (they have travel history to US)

Hi

Sorry I couldnt find the right sub-forum to put this. Please move if required.

For my upcoming family trip to Dubai, I am planning to leverage my Magnus card exclusively for expenses. Taking about a 1000 dirham cash too.

But is Dubai easy with credit card acceptance or is that a challenge and need to carry more cash?
Every shop, govt window, taxi has card machine except very small vendors or stalls. Some vendors with less profit margin like gold, mobile vendor or wholesalers will charge 2.5% to 3% for swiping card
