Foreign merchant refund - World safari credit card - Conversion factor

Dear All,

I have done a hotel booking via booking.com and paid in 224.05 MYR via my World safari RBL credit card for my upcoming trip.

Payment done on Feb 18th 2025 and the equivalment conversion settled to INR 4,393

Applied refund due to other reasons and merchant approved 100% refund without any deducitons

Refund status as per booking.com as per below but the RBL cs communicated the refund confirmation as INR 224.05 instead of MYR 224.05

Most probably it's MYR and the email is wrong. Go to mobile app and see there.

Most probably it's chambers klcc. I was there for few days during my KL trip. Service isn't good. Very rude behavior from front desk staff.
 
@telescope, Yes you are right. Very rude behaviour by the property host (Mr.Sen) but luckly to avoid unpleasant experience before check in I have tried to get my refund.

Checked In Mobile app under unbilled transactions, The converted INR has been credited. But However I checked across the RBL Market rate today, they havent published for MYR.

@telescope, Yes you are right. Very rude behaviour by the property host (Mr.Sen) but luckly to avoid unpleasant experience before check in I have tried to get my refund.

Checked In Mobile app under unbilled transactions, The converted INR has been credited. But However I checked across the RBL Market rate today, they havent published for MYR.

I reached KL early morning, and waited at airport just to kill time, as their checkin time was 3pm. I reached the property at 2pm and they said to wait till 3pm for checkin time. They were absolutely not flexible about early check-in, despite having room ready. Few mins before 3pm, they called me to checkin counter and asked for 200 ringgit security deposit. She could have told me about this while I was waiting at the lobby for an hour. This wasn't mentioned anywhere during booking. I didn't have cash so asked them to charge a hold transaction on cc. But they were adamant about cash or bank transfer. I told the lady that I'll give cash after an hour, and she can keep my passport. As I as very tired, I wanted to fresh up and then go to ATM. But she was adamant. I had to go find the atm, which took another 45 mins.

I was very pissed off with all these. The location was also bad, no bus or MRT nearby.

Checkout was also bad. It took more than half an hour for them to send someone to verify if I had stolen or broken something. Got back security money only after that.

After all these, they had the audacity to ask me directly to give "good review" on Google maps.
