Forgot to close the card before renewal fees is charged.

Hi,

I had taken vistara infinite card in wife's name.

I forgot to close the card before the renewal fees was charged in August 19th. After the annual fees was charged, my wife made another transaction. And now the bill is generated. Can I ask axis to close the card without paying annual fees?

Axis being Axis doesn't allow closing cards after the fee has been charged.

Now that a transaction has been made already, there's almost zero chance that they will return the fee.
The better idea is to enjoy the benefits and then set a reminder to close the card in 11 months!

Still no harm in trying…you can request bank for fee reversal.
Actually I had called bank for my Axis Ace card closure as renewal fee is due next month..initially they tried convincing me to not to cancel but when I persisted on closure citing renewal fee, they told me to get back to them once fee is charged, they will process for fee reversal!!

So you never know…

May have worked for Ace, but when i called to close my Magnus last month citing same reason, they tried to convince me continue and when i didn't budge they eventually closed the card
So might not work for super premium cards

But yeah no harm in trying

They'll forget they said any of it next month and be like that's impossible one would never say that

After fees charged - Cancellation possible, have done this in the past
After fees charged and transaction done - Cancellation not possible

If you were to be that Bank, will you entertain such a request ?
Possibly yes if my stratatgy is to be long term successful by retaining high value customers. However with axis we all know there is no strategy as they mindlessly distributed cards last year and now mindlessly trying to recover losses any which way they can
