Got 2nd time invitation for Zomato Classic Credit Card after rejection on the same mobile number and email which got rejected for the first time.

Hi everyone,

Around 26th March, I asked Zomato chat support team to lodge a request for an invitation for Zomato classic edition credit card. I waited for my cibil score to get updated until April 1 and I applied for this card after my cibil score got updated on April 1, 2022. But my application got rejected.

After this since April 1 evening, I am asking Zomato edition support team on Twitter to send me an invitation for the same account with the same mobile number where the application got declined for the first time. And, today I got the invitation for the same account. Should I go ahead now and apply for this card again or wait for some time and apply for this card?

BTW, I think my application got rejected for the first time, definitely not because of CIBIL score, since they didn't even check my score in the first place, to have an idea of my score. I know this because whenever a bank requests for a hard check we will get an OTP to give our consent to allow bank to get access to our latest score. I didn't even get an OTP. Neither my CIBIL report says that a hard check was requested from RBL Bank. I am feeling they declined my application because of overwhelming applications received over short amount of time.

So, Should I wait for sometime and apply again? Or should I go ahead right now? It's a bizarre feeling for me. BTW, If I wait, How much time do I have before Zomato Team revokes the Application Invite from me because they are really not predictable these days, as we have already seen that they April fooled people on April 1st 2022 by making the card a PAID card for a fee of Rs. 590.

Also, how much time will they have this LTF offer? This Zomato is really unpredictable.

And, did you guys enable location/gave location permission to Zomato while applying? Since I didn't do that while applying for the first time.
Also, What if my home city is Delhi and my office is in Hyderabad as I am WFH? I entered home as Delhi and office location as Hyderabad in my first application. Do you guys think this is the reason behind rejection?

I clearly wanted to know the reason for rejection, for which I called RBL bank, they told they didn't even receive my application in the first place. Clear case of CONFUSION.

I don't know how to prove my claim, but I have got the screenshots from my phone taken at different points of time i.e. for the first application I took a screenshot on march 27 and for the 2nd invite, for which I have to apply yet, I took this screenshot today i.e. April 3, 2022. You can find them attached below.

PS: It seems Zomato Edition twitter handle team are very lazy in responses. They seem to be enjoying the demand they are getting suddenly after a post in this community/forum/a short video by @SumantaMandal. We have to keep tweeting again and again so get a response from them.

Wait. You get an OTP to authorize whether a bank can make a hard enquiry on your report?

Who's your banking partner if I may ask?

I have also received an invite from Zomato but I am hesitating to apply for it after reading so many frustrated comments and posts here about their applications getting rejected extremely quickly.

Yes. Without an OTP from CIBIL no bank can check your latest CIBIL score. OTP here means, only with your proper consent they are checking your credit history.

Well, I have applied for two-three credit cards but I haven't received a single OTP for consent.

This is something I am getting to know about, for the first time.

Yeah I am in a prime location in a metro and I don't believe there should be any issues for the delivery of the card.

The only concern for me right now is, as I previously mentioned in some other post, I just applied for an Axis bank card on 22nd and the status says it's still in process. I am not sure what's happening there but I don't want to hurry and further tank my score down with another hard enquiry.

Get a new CIBIL report for free from sites like Paisabazaar, WishFin, SBI Home Loans, etc. You will see whether a hard inquiry from RBL is made or not. After that, check if your application could have been rejected due the the 'serviceable location' issue. If you clear both these checks, you can try reapplying for the card. But since your previous application may still be in RBL database, you could still be rejected for applying again within the 90 day cool down period.

I applied for LTF My Zone CC for my mother on 31st March. Then applied RBL Zomato for her on 2nd April. Her RBL Zomato approval was seamless. I don't think that credit inquiry from other bank is that of a problem.

I've about half a dozen active CC but I've never received any OTP while applying online for any card. You do get OTP when you are applying physically via bank directly or through agent. In fact this happens as soon as you give them your PAN card number. They enter that in their system and bank system sends hard check query to CIBIL and then we get OTP which we require to share. None of the cards I've applied physically were ever approved. 🤣

I just filled the application form. It says "We can't issue you a card at this time. Please check back later".

Oh. Sorry. I confused you with the user ReddyR. In my mother's case, she didn't face any problem. I don't know whether your RBL card was solely rejected based on the previous inquiry by Axis Bank or not.
