Got the hsbc premier credit card

So

1) So how did you recover the joining fee and make it highly profitable?
(Don't include non spend benefits because we get all that with Infinia, Magnus Burgundy and Emerald private metal)

2) Also after holding all the best cards Infinia, Magnus burgundy, Emerald private metal, Atlas, SBI cashback, AU Lit, Airtel, Amex plat travel, etc; do I really need this?
With all these cards, you don’t really need premier. I had infinia, emerald private metal, M4B and Amex plat travel. Opened hsbc premier account a year ago but didn’t apply for the credit card as I didn’t see it adding any value. However, got it recently as I was trying to replace my Amex plat travel and hsbc premier made sense.
The free night at taj + 12k experience voucher is a good deal against the joining fee in my opinion. Other than that, it is only useful if you are already maxing out your monthly cap for restricted categories i.e. gold, insurance, rent etc.

1) HSBC Premier 3.0 gives 20000 RP for the joining fees of 12500 making it a no brainer.

2) you probably don’t need it since you have so many super premium cards. Even I have Infinia, Magnus Burgundy and Charge cards. But it seems to serve a very specific purpose. 1 lac of monthly spends on restricted spends earns points. I need it for paying my rent. Secondly you may have benefit if you value Accor points. So hotel bookings give crazy value back(although I haven’t checked the price difference between HSBC Portal and other aggregators like MMT)

Wow, so you can get 20000 Accor points for just Rs 14750 joining fee?
What will you get for the 20000 annual fee or renewal fee in the second year?

Renewal fees is 20k + GST if you don’t maintain the Premier status.
Renewal is free if you maintain the Premier status.

PS - It feels strange to give the legendary @drsel some tips. 🫣

You need to block 40 lacs in FDs for this card, so I will skip it.
Since there are no 5x or 6x vouchers available, its difficult to accumulate a large number of points by just booking hotels and flights.
I can't book so many flights and hotels to make it good value.

Same logic applies for HSBC travel one card for 5900

Can I have separate premier credit card for my wife based on my trv and under family banking ?
My RM and customer care says no, family member will get premier status under family banking but for there seperate premier credit card, they will have to individually maintain TRB
