Got unexpected Rs. 1500 GV from Swiggy credit card. Why?

I received the following email for my Swiggy credit card for a gv of Rs. 1500 which I redeemed for Amazon shopping voucher.



I don't know why... any clues? I had set up an EMI for a phone on Flipkart in that month (there may have been an offer like this... i don't remember precisely) but that I immediately cancelled since HDFC credit card instant discount wasn't given due to Swiggy not being considered core HDFC card then, but somehow the loan went on and I was charged first month's EMI on the bill, then I contacted bank and got it reversed and cancelled...

Is this linked to that? Anyone got a clue?

There was a thread here posted some days back...there was a spend based targeted offer for swiggy hdfc card in 2nd half of december

most likely you would have spent on the card and crossed your offer threshold

HDFC runs EMI campaign which are linked to Cust ID and that renews every month. Me also in past received 1000 voucher but I knew that offer email which came 2 months back had its offer renewed at backend. So after EMI txn, I got the 1000 voucher which I redeemed for Amazon Pay. These days they mostly have ASV.

P.S: What is the best use of ASV?

I have got an Sept 500 voucher for DC spends and it has ASV, Swiggy, Blinkit and Croma. Yet to redeem it.

So pls anyone confirm the best use case for ASV. Can other vouchers be bought like Jiomart using it like we can with AGV.

You can only buy physical products from Amazon with ASV. Also, AFAIR you can combine ASV with other payment methods

Yeah I know that for physical products it can be used and combined with other payment methods. But I mostly buy GVs from Amazon. 🙂

Some GVs can be bought with ASVs (except myntra, zomato, swiggy, AGV in my experience). Check the vouchers you want.

I already written that I sometimes purchase Jiomart voucher using AGV balance (so it is confirmed that we can buy some Gift cards using AGV) but haven't tried ASV so before generating ASV from link HDFC shared I wanted to confirm the same. Else if not allowed then will redeem for swiggy 500 voucher for using at instamart.

No need bro. I redeemed it for 500 ASV and bought 500 Jiomart using the same. 😉
