I have just started using gpay regularly now their is an option to add card so i added my Amazon card. I want to know where i can use this card i tried scanning qr but i was only able to pay through upi . This card can only be used for bill payments right?
* My phone don't have nfc support

This option is there mainly for bill payment and NFC tap n pay transactions.

If I am not wrong only Bharatpe QR supports Debit or Credit for everyone else it works with UPI only

So yes in your case it will only work with bill payments

And You should rather use Amazon portal to pay through Amazon card for maximum rewards ?

Yes always used apay card on amazon just added for one payment because that particular transaction got failed maximum time. So i have not deleted the card. Asking for other cards btw

Today I scanned a HDFC Payzapp QR code at a merchant via gpay and it showed banks as well as cards. Paid via Ace to test, and it went through successfully. The only difference I noticed in card transaction through QR was it required OTP instead of pin.

Thankyou actually yesterday i tried so there was paytm qr so maybe this only works with some Merchants qr

Yeah it works with "Bharat QR"

Does your phone have NFC btw? Do we need NFC in phone to scan and pay Bharat QR via CC?

I tried with HDFC payzaap qr at jwellery shop of 10000 . And yes it was successful also received default cashback rate

No NFC is not needed for scann pay, it is needed for tap n pay, like you do with card

Yes that phone had NFC but Bharat QR transactions don’t require phone to have NFC. I can still do Bharat QR transactions using Payzapp app on iPhone, it has NFC but it’s disabled in India for payments.

Interesting that the iOS PayZapp still has it. Does GPay on iOS support paying via Visa and MC CCs to Bharat QR by scanning it?

I don’t use gpay on iOS but I’ve seen many people complain about Ace card not useful for iOS users as it can’t be added in gpay, so my guess is that card aren’t supported in iOS gpay yet.
