Grand Mercure Mysore vs Fortune JP Palace

Hi,
I'm looking for 3 nights stay. Looking to spend my 70% of time in hotel itself. Wanted to check if anyone can recommend which is good between them and do we have any activity option in both of it.

I've been to jp palace. I liked everything especially the food. I have no idea about the other option.

This place is shit, their service is shit, and hopeless,
-Restaurant: I’ve been to the resaturant thrice, and it was hopeless all three times, my wife and I had to keep reminding them again and again to clean the empty tables so that we could sit, and all three times we waited with our plates in hand and I had ti go to the counter miltiple times to remind them.
They took 1 hr for a honey chilly potato, that came bitter, we returned it, and then they brought a very salty version. They didn’t have basic courtesy to bring water until asked. The food is horrible, expensive, naams are rubbery m, I can go on
- Rooms: They’re very small and dirty, the carpets have spots, the walls have spots, the toilet bowl has yellow stains all over which you can see in the mirror while brushing, nothing is provided in the room, no slippers, no iron, nada. And yeah, the view is shit
-Reception: Even though they boast a priority checkin for accor plus members, I had to wait for an hour, and got a room at 3, despite the check in time being 2, and I had already informed them beforehand that I’ll arrive on time.
- Booking: I kept calling them for four days and no one picked my call for booking, and I had to drop a mail, and they refused to honour the accor voucher for booking without any reason. I had to raise a formal complaint against them and only after fighting for a week, I got the confirmation. Shouldn’t have bothered with that, this is definitely not worth it, not worth even 2500 per day

While Accor places Grand Mercure Chain above Novotel in their hotel hierarchy, of all the novotels that I’ve been too, except some hiccups in Kolkata, they were top notch in their service and comfort, This place deserves a spot even below ibis in terms of value and comfort

To add to this, I just returned from a week long bangalore visit. Stayed in Grand Mercure, Koramangala and ITC Gardenia equal days to mix it up. Although Grand Mercure was a pleasant experience service wise, I wouldn't rate the chain too highly. It's a 4ish star property, atleast the specific one I was in. Only a single restaurant, they only offered really cheap alcohol as part of complimentary drinks. Rooms weren't very 5-star. But it was priced the same as ITC Gardenia which was a far better experience.

I travel frequently and in general, I have come to the conclusion that while Accor is great for value chasers, the product is more refined at other hotel brands like ITC/Taj/Marriott. I would almost never book Accor if I was paying cash.

I have visited ITC, for 3 days. Room was good. I has suite book for 2 nights and this was first time suite for me, so I was happy with room size and everything.

For food we did in room dinning for lunch and dinner and experience was good. As I have read multiple places that food is not good. But taste was good.

For breakfast, it's better to go around 9 because after 10, it's chaos and they have shortage of everything.

i forgot:
They gave us pool towels in the room, and when they came for room cleaning, they took them back wothout any replacement
Looks like other guests also faced the same issues during that weekend

There is a new ibis Styles hotel (10 minutes from GMM but it is slightly away from the centre). Rooms are smaller then GMM though. They have rooftop pool (I am not sure of food quality as i visited for pre opening inspections). GM and most of the team is shared with GMM. If I have to choose, I will go with ibis Styles. Lesser cost, brand new property. GMM is old and it shows. Food is especially bad. At ibis styles you have one dhaba type garden restaurant right opposite, with a liquor store as well. If you want south indian banana leaf meals, there is Aroha nearby.

I knew a manager who was first working in Grand Mercure and then started working in JP Fortune and he always said service of JP Fortune is miles away from Grand Mercure.
Other options are Radisson, which will have an amazing view from your windows as it is next to race course/golf club and also you can see chamundi hills.
There was a property called Country Inn and suites run by Radisson but it is now taken over by don't know who and no idea how the service is now.
Check out Lalit Mahal Palace hotel too for some old style living but as @ashwinsid said IBIS Styles would be the best option if you want to stay away from city.
