Guidance Needed: SBI RD Penalty Reversal

I had created a Recurring deposit of ₹5000 per month through Yono sbi app. When I opened the deposit, SBI sent me an email stating the instalment due date would be the 3rd of every month until 29 November 2025. The first payment was auto-debited on 29 Nov 2024, and from January 2025 onwards payments were auto-debited on the 3rd of each month up to November.
SBI has now charged me a penalty of ₹825, claiming 11 instalments were paid late and asserting the due date was actually the 29th of every month. This doesn’t make sense because I have SBI’s email confirming the due date as the 3rd, and auto-debits were happening on the 3rd from January. If their system internally used the 29th, that’s a bank setup error, not my fault.
Has anyone experienced this? How can I escalate it and get the ₹825 reversed?

Go and meet officer in your Home branch. What's the exact issue ⁉️
 
Write email to branch and see if they contact, else email zonal head.

Ask 10k compensation as well. I will guide later on this.

This was the response from the bank :
" Thanking you for contacting us. As communicated to you by branch that, Rs 825/- has been debited as penalty for late payment of RD Account 11 instalments and is in order. RD account opened on 29.11.2024 instalment due on 29th of every month effective date from 29.1.2024 whereas paid on 03/01/2025 and payment done on 3rd of subsequent months. Proceeds of RD account Rs 61432/- have been transferred to your SB account on 6.12.2025. We are happy to serve you and assure our best services."

The email however which I received while opening the RD states that the payment date is the 3rd, instead of the 29th
 
Here's another response from the bank manager
"You rd account was opened on 29.11.2024 for monthly installment of Rs. 5000/- .You have also received confirmation mail that your installment will be deducted on 03rd of every month. However, it is observed that your installment was not debited on 03.12.2025 due to insufficient balance in your SB account.Hence, the penalty has been deducted at the time of closure due to failure of auto deduction of RD installment."

Is the penalty justified?
