Today morning I tried to purchase my usual monthly quota of 10K Amazon Pay vouchers on HDFC SmartBuy using my Diners Privilege credit card. The transaction failed, as did the second one I tried. After a few minutes I received an automated call asking me to verify if it was me making the purchase, which I did.
I then called up HDFC Bank who said that the transactions were blocked for "security purposes" because they were not sure that if it was me who was trying to make the transactions. I confirmed that it was the I who was me who was making the transactions. They then said that they will raise a case about this and it will be resolved in a day and I should try to make transactions on SmartBuy only after that. It will be blocked until then. I can use the card everywhere else, though. I purchase 10K APay vouchers each on the primary and add-on every month (on different Gyftr accounts with different mobile numbers, of course), but haven't used either cards on Gyftr this month so far.
Now I wonder what happened, if it is the infamous Gyftr blocking? But if it was I doubt I would've received a verification call from HDFC. Also, I have not used this card on any other Gyftr account or with any other number, ever. Anyway, waiting until tomorrow.
