Has anyone Tried to Convert LTF World Safari from Visa to MasterCard ?

Recently , a lot of Edition Card Holders got LTF World Safari Card but on Visa Platform .
But as we know , Mastercard variant has more benefits than visa variant (one of the exclusive benefits to Mastercard is attached below)


Since , from 1st Oct we should be technically Allowed to change the card network , has anyone tried it ?

I tried to change my card varient to MasterCard after 1st October but unfortunately as you can see in the email, they are saying that it's not possible.

I have tried to convert the same back in August and also escalated to headcardservices@rblbank.com, but unfortunately that time also I was rejected.

Not sure whether escalating to headcardservices@rblbank.com would yield any different response this time or not. By looking at their response it seems like it won't help.😑

Card network selection is only applicable for new applications AFAIK.

They literally told me that for a LTF card, the product team does not approve MC. But as far I remember, @souvikdey2002 could do that successfully. He maybe able to guide 😁

I have LTF safari card which is on MC network. But the extra benefit you mentioned would be hardly used by anyone here. Anyways we have golf access via so many cards

Out of curiosity I escalated to headcardservices@rblbank.com and asked them directly about the new RBI guidelines which was set to take effect on October 1st, and not to my surprise I got an expected response on the next day itself.

As per my understanding the actual circular was a draft circular posted on RBI's website for seeking comments from the market players in the segment. The circular in itself has not taken effect as it's a draft and not a final one. Some big banks life HDFC has started giving option to switch networks so as to comply with the circular prior to it being actually imposed on the players.

Curious if this MC > Visa is specific to this card/ RBL etc?

Or applies for other cards as well? e.g. I got a AXIS Burgundy DC with MC, but I heard VISA was maybe better?
