HDFC agent begging me to activate card

Hello, couple weeks back one HDFC agent called me and offered me swiggy credit card lifetime free. I told her I would only consider lifetime free Millennia. She then told okay, that's possible. I gave consent and let her apply giving my details over the phone. After a few days, I received email from HDFC that my card has been approved. I was happy. But to my surprise I found out she applied for swiggy card itself and that too was a paid card. I didn't activate the card and emailed HDFC to cancel it. Now that agent is spamming me, literally begging me to give a missed call to the activation number. Anyone faced similar things? It's definitely a first for me!!

Bro don't give missed call, that number is for card activation. You will give missed call and your card got activated and you will be charged the annual fees. That scam also happen to me. Be carefully 🫠🫠

Agent get commission when the card is activated & they have targets to complete that's why begging for card activation.

Don't give misscall on that number. Simply put a complaint against her then she will not spam you.

In 30 days the card will expire

Lol.. there is a thread on the forum where something similar happened to someone and the agent kept begging. They filed a complaint against the agent and then she was begging to remove the complaint . Look for it.

I had similar experience from Yesbank. The agent mis-sold the card saying it has cashback, movie ticket offers etc. and LTF. The said benefits were completely different from what's shown on website - a low value/benefit offering. She even said that I have a great Crefit score when in reality, I didn't have any credit history prior to that.
Being a CC newbie then, I applied and realised my mistake on receiving the card.
Called customer care, registered a complaint for mis-selling. And then I started receiving call from the 1st agent apologising and requesting for activation of card and complaint withdrawal. I was stern on not activating as I felt cheated. Due to her request, I took back the complaint but cancelled the card.

A few weeks later, got a call from another girl posing as Indusind CC agent and sold similar benefits and shared a made-up pdf. Told her about the Yesbank experience and asked her to not mis-seld card.

Turns out she has heard my case with Yesbank 😂 but didn't knew I was the person. She and the 1st agent are working together. These agents are working for different banks from the same office/agency. They have targets, ofc, and she just wanted to meet that. Usually not many first time CC customers make it a big deal and this mis-selling is common.

So, I'd suggest anyone to not go ahead with these luring offers on cards over call from a random agent. Always stick to what's there on website or a promotional email or something official. IMO HDFC does this mis-selling officially - offering card as LTF and then putting a spend condition on it.

It's not a big deal, but a headache.

Yes, most of these are scams. But actually some of them can provide ltf cards too. Happened with my friend. Got Regalia Gold ltf few weeks back.

Sikari aayega, jaal bichayega, daana dalega, magar fasna nahi! 🙂

Sikari= Agent, Jaal= Bas ek mis* call, Daana= Emotinal blackmailing (girgirana) 🙂

Insabka kaam hi yehe hai call recording hai, if yes, escalate with proof until LTF card nahi de with compensation and lastly if required use RBI Bamboo. 🎍
