HDFC Bank charged Maintenance Fees despite Account Closure Request

Hello all,
I opened an HDFC current account in March last year. Due to poor service and lack of benefits, I decided to close my account and submitted a closure application form on August 12th. To my surprise, the account wasn't closed. When I reached out to the bank via Twitter, they informed me that since the account was relatively new, closing it might cause issues from higher management. They assured me there wouldn't be any charges levied. However, today I was charged Rs. 2,000 for non-maintenance of minimum balance.Can anyone tell me how do I revert those charges and get my account closed

Closure of account from >15 days and <365 days will incur closure charges. This is common across private sector banks.

that only get waived if you get something written or some tncs says otherwise.

I hope you have proof of closure application.
Raise a complaint why wasn't it closed. You will get resolution.

except one or two psu banks or neo banks that charges for 90% of indian banks including hdfc.
