Infinia HDFC Bank - Living in stone age (Another example !)

I recently learned that following the upgrade of my credit card, I am unable to utilize the reward points accrued in my account until the next billing cycle !!!

I find it rather surprising that, despite having enough points, they cannot be utilized immediately due to the limitations of their reward system. It is disconcerting to realize that, in this day and age, it takes a full month for their system to update and reflect the points !!!

It is perplexing that such delays persist in a major bank in India.
This experience only reaffirms my perception that despite being a prominent bank, they seem to lag behind in adopting more efficient and timely practices.

What are your thoughts ?

Is their any bank which allows immediate utilisation?

At least HDFC posts immediately.

This is due to caps / charge backs / time to convert to EMI. Eg. Groceries have max cap of 2k RP / billing cycle. Same for smartbuy. Hence they wait for end of billing cycle. At least they let u use reward points before u actually pay back the bill, which is decent.

kotak below white signature card gives points in 2-3 after use and u can convert the points also instantly once u get it even before bill generation.

au also when bill is generated they give the points instantly.

bob also gives very fast ..


there maybe many more no idea 😛

The card is upgraded and is activated to use, but why points are only available to be used after 30+ days?

Doesn't make any sense or logic!
