Did you actually paid in advance via Cred and verified that?

After BBPS adoption by banks, you can no longer pre-pay. You can only pay the total amount due or any amount less than that only after your bill is generated.

No it depends on the bank, ICICI allows you to make advance payments.

Idk I was using the UPI but when I used HDFC platinum debit card I didn't get any reward points.

You can make advance payment in HDFC Credit Card using HDFC Net banking, directly click on pay on the credit card option. This work even if there is no outstanding balance.

HDFC netbanking also won't let you pay after all the dues is cleared on card.

Yes, that's what I said (meaning 0 outstanding).

The only way to pay is IMPS/NEFT or similar app which use this method to pay i.e. Amazon, Cred, etc.

You can use Mobikwik. My outstanding went to -3000 Rs few days ago.
