HDFC CC policy of distance between office and residential

Akash Topder

In a call an HDFC CC agent told me that HDFC only approves those CC applications where the distance from office address to residential/permanent address is less than 100km. Is this true? Which banks have these kind of criteria?
Is there any workarounds like giving the address of the closest office of the company (which is less than 100km from my residential) instead of the office I'm posted because that is more than 100km from my residential address?

I think Indusind because my application was rejected because of this

Kotak also does not approve the application if the applicants residence and work address are in different cities. HDFC can approve if your salary account is with them.

Yes, that is the case with HDFC, Axis and a few other banks. But there is the other way too. There should be an approval from the Cluster Head of the Credit card team and you need to verify your work address and residence address by sending them proofs and an email from your office email ID.
I too am Working From Home and got my HDFC cc approved with different work and residence addresses which are more than 3000KM away. Although there was some back and forth with the Application, it got approved later.

Same happened to me but not with my brother, so I am kind of confused too. Also my guy told me it should be within 200km for my cc upgrade.
.
I think it's the branch you visit, if the credit card department person knows this thing, he will ask you to follow this. So I did have to change the address in bank and then applied for the card.
But they didn't asked my brother who is applying from different city. Although his cc application part is still under process but will update you on that.
.
Also as others have mentioned, there are other ways to get things done. You can try those too.

What does they verify when they visit the office for verification? Because the HDFC agent told me to give the office branch address which is closest to my house and not the branch address I'm posted in. If they only verify if I'm working in the company then that will be fine but if they try to verify if I'm working in that specific branch or not and try to meet me in the branch for proof of that then that wouldn't be possible and my application would surey get rejected.

Well back and forth emails are fine but my office email id is localised. Can't send anything to outside with that.

They check if you are employed with the org. The local office should be able to provide confirmation when they come to verify this even if you are posted at another branch. If they cannot then the application will be rejected.

I don't know this much in detail man. 😅 but I am pretty sure this condition is not a mandatory one.
I had to change my address anyway, so I did it when he asked.

So they don't try to meet me at the office branch? 🤣 That is a relief!
So I can just put the address of the closest office branch when I'm applying for a card, right?

Someone at the branch (reception or front desk) can verify that you work there?
They can I hope!
