HDFC MCC mismatch - any possible resolution?

I used HDFC Swiggy CC and made a Pharmeasy spend, the gateway was Paytm and the statement shows "Pay * Paytm payment ser". It was a considerably big spend, where if cashback was credited, would offset the yearly fee. Pharmeasy is there in the HDFC official website list for 5%, but I got 1% back in my statement.

I dailed in Customer care and got MCC from them for this transaction, they said it's 5411. Anything I can do now? I know it was my fault to not check the MCC by making a small payment first. But now, is there anything that can be done? Please help. TIA

How did you reach pharmeasy? Via smartbuy or directly? I did via smartbuy on my card and got 10X rewards.

They said they can't do anything from their end, as they can only let me know it was a different MCC other than 5% eligible spends.
That's unfortunate. Is it possible to return the entire order? I've never bought medicines online before, so I'm not sure about the return policy, sorry if this sounds stupid.

If you hadn't received the cashback, we could have escalated the issue to the bank for the cashback.

Also, why you didn't bought medicines through smartbuy? Smartbuy works for every debit/credit cards.

I did it directly from Pharmeasy app. I did visit Smartbuy, (I have no idea how to use it though) it said 10% CB is only for Infinia users?
Login into the hdfc smartbuy, then click on pharmeasy.

It will automatically redirect you to the pharmeasy page, don't close smartbuy page which is opened on your left tab.

At the checkout page, you will notice there is only one payment option that too of HDFC only.

Which confirms that you are buying medicines through HDFC smartbuy.

reach out to Pharmeasy, cancel the order and re-order and do what 6ix9ine says above, easy

Thanks for the detailed process. I don't think retuning is an option, as it's been more than 15 odd days.

Reg smartbuy, would that 10% CB be directly added to the statement? Or it's like Axis Edge points which we would redeem it within some timeframe? (sorry if it's a noob question)

It's completely fine to ask bud, rather than making mistakes.

Smartbuy cashback has a limit of 1000/month. As for your second query:

Customers transacting through Credit card shall get respective bonus reward points /cashback on their credit card account within 90 working days from the last date of transaction month, provided the account is active.
Source: https://offers.smartbuy.hdfcbank.com/offer_details/smartbuy/15282/Zmilm2U=

It actually takes less than 90 days, so 90 days is the max time limit.

If you wish, you can use debit card instead of credit card. You will receive promotional cashback in the netbanking, which you can redeem into your account.

Note: this cashback is completely different from your regular 2.5% (millenia) / 1% (platinum)
